If you want a new and easy recipe to try today, then you have got to give this one a try! You will only need three ingredients for this! The combination of Sprite, cake mix, and frozen berries is simply the best! This is something I can eat pretty much every day! I know that you are going to love it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 to 2 ½ c Sprite (or other lemon-lime soda)
1 box of white cake (or yellow cake mix – whichever you prefer!)
2 ½ c mixed frozen berries (or any other type of frozen fruit you like)
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Add the frozen berries to the bottom of the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix on top of the fruit layer and press it evenly.
Add 2 cups of Sprite over the cake mix layer and spread it evenly. Make sure not to stir the layers. Add more Sprite if you see dry spots to wet them.
Cover the baking dish with aluminium foil.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes at room temperature.
Top each serving with vanilla ice cream.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can apply cooking spray on top after 20 minutes to slightly toast it.
I highly recommend serving this with vanilla ice cream. It tastes amazing with it!
Always make sure to use fresh fruits for this recipe.
You can use a gluten-free cake mix if you prefer.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them in the fridge.
