Ingredients:
½ c grated Parmesan cheese
16 oz. shredded mozzarella
¼ c chopped fresh basil
1 32 oz. jar Marinara sauce
1 lb. uncooked ziti
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 162 degrees C or 325 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray to an 11×9-inch casserole dish.
Place a large saucepan with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Add the pasta and cook for a few minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Place the empty pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add the cream cheese and marinara sauce, then cook for a few minutes until completely melted. Make sure to stir from time to time.
Add the cooked pasta into the pan with the sauce, then toss until completely coated.
Add ½ of the pasta mixture into the prepared dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle ½ of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese on top, followed by 2 tbsp of freshly chopped basil. Repeat the process with the rest of the ingredients until everything is arranged in layers.
Cover the baking dish with aluminium foil.
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for half an hour.
Remove the foil cover, then bake for 15 to 20 more minutes or until the cheese turns golden brown.
Remove the Easy Creamy Baked Ziti from the oven and sprinkle freshly chopped basil on top to garnish.
Serve right away with a toasted baguette. Enjoy!
