Ingredients:
2 tbsp cornstarch
4 c mixed vegetables
1 lb. flank steak thinly sliced
2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
sauce
¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
1 ½ teaspoon sesame oil
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
⅓ cup orange juice
⅓ cup water
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon minced ginger
Directions:
Sprinkle salt, pepper, and cornstarch over the steak. Toss until well coated.
Put a wok on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add 1 tbsp of oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the steak, then cook for about 3 minutes or until brown. Transfer onto a clean plate.
In the same wok, add the veggies and cook for about 5 minutes or until crisp. Transfer them onto the plate with the steak.
In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce aside from the cornstarch. Stir until well blended.
Adjust the heat to medium-high, then pour the sauce into the wok. Scrape the bottom of the wok to get the browned bits. Simmer for a few minutes.
Add slurry (water and cornstarch mixture) and stir until well blended. Simmer for about 2 minutes or until the texture becomes thick.
Put the steak and veggies back into the wok, then stir until well combined.
Serve right away over fried rice or noodles. Enjoy!
