INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 tbsp butter
2 Bone in thick pork chops, about 1” thick
3 tbsp garlic, minced
3 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp red pepper flakes
fresh parsley, chopped
salt and pepper
HOW TO MAKE GARLIC BROWN SUGAR PORK CHOPS
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees. Sprinkle the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Step 2: In an oven-safe skillet (like cast iron), heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 3 minutes per side. Set the chops aside when done.
Step 3: Adjust the heat to low. Then, add the butter in the same skillet along with the garlic, brown sugar, and red pepper. Stir and let everything simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes. Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon the sauce over.
Step 4: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chops reaches 145 degrees F.
Step 5: Turn the heat off and allow the pork chops to rest for about 5 minutes.
Step 6: Serve the garlic brown sugar pork chops garnished with some fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy!
NOTES:
If an oven-safe pan is not available, simply transfer everything to a baking dish.
Cut back on the cooking time if using thinner pork chops.
