Ingredients:
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 can (15 ounces) of chili beans (do not drain)
2 c cooked chicken, shredded or chunked
1 can (15 ounces) of petite diced tomatoes (do not drain)
1 tsp onion powder
1 can (16 ounces) of refried beans
shredded cheese, tortilla chips, sour cream, avocado chunks for toppings
2 c chicken broth
Directions:
Add cooked chicken, sliced tomatoes, chicken broth, onion powder, cumin, refried beans, beans, chili powder, and garlic powder into a large pot. Stir everything until well blended.
Cover the pot, then place it on the stove.
Turn the heat low, then simmer the tortilla soup for about 10 to 20 minutes or until done.
Remove the cover, then stir everything until well blended.
Serve the soup with your preferred toppings. Enjoy!
Notes:
You can add additional salt if you are using a low-sodium chicken broth. Taste, according to your preference.
