Ingredients:
½ c milk
1 lb. lean ground beef at least 90% lean
4 (6-inch) sub rolls
½ tsp garlic powder
½ small onion minced
1 Egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 ¼ c saltine crackers
½ tsp dried thyme
4 tbsp ketchup plus more for topping
A tsp of salt & pepper to taste
2 c shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 225 degrees C or 450 degrees F.
Divide the spring rolls into two, then place them onto a baking sheet.
Add onion, ground beef, garlic powder, crushed crackers, 4 tbsp ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, egg, dried thyme, pepper, and salt into a large mixing bowl. Stir everything until well incorporated.
Spoon the meat mixture over each bun and spread it evenly.
Spoon ketchup on top of the meat mixture and spread it evenly.
Place them in the preheated oven and bake the prepared buns for about 20 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese over each bun.
Put them back in the oven and bake for 3 more minutes or until the cheese has melted completely. Remove from the oven.
Serve right away. Enjoy!
Notes:
I always serve This Meatloaf Patty Melt with chips or fries!
You can toast the buns for a few minutes if you prefer.
You can use crushed cornflakes instead of crackers.
I highly suggest using lean meat for this recipe.
