You won’t be needing anything else from these Herb Roasted Chicken Thighs in Creamy White Wine Sauce! Loaded with incredible flavors, this dish is just pure perfection! Serve it over rice or mashed potatoes, and you have yourself a meal to remember. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Italian seasoning (divided)
3-4 thyme sprigs (leaves only)
1 tbsp olive oil
3 pounds chicken thighs, bone-in, skin-on
Salt and pepper
½ c white wine
1 c chicken stock
1 tbsp flour for thickening the sauce
2 tbsp butter
½ c heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 medium onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, chopped
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add 1 tbsp of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Sprinkle Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt over the chicken thighs. Rub each until well coated.
Add the chicken thighs into the hot skillet and sear each side for 5 minutes or until brown.
Place the seared chicken thighs onto a clean plate, then cover them with something.
In the same skillet, add 2 tbsp of butter and allow it to melt.
Add the onion into the skillet, then sauté for a few minutes until caramelized.
Add garlic, thyme, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning. Sauté for another minute or until aromatic.
Add 1 tbsp of flour, then whisk and cook for a minute to remove the raw flavor.
Pour in the wine, then scrape the bottom of the skillet to get the browned bits.
Add the heavy cream and chicken stock, then stir everything until well blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring the chicken thighs back into the skillet, then toss until well coated with the sauce.
Put the skillet in the preheated oven and cook the chicken for another 35 minutes or until done.
Sprinkle freshly chopped thyme on top garnish.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
