Ingredients:
1 teaspoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 large apples – peeled, cored, and sliced
3 ½ tablespoons water
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
Step 2: Brush with butter a large baking dish.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, add the brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Add and arrange ⅓ of the sliced apples on the bottom of the greased baking dish.
Step 5: Sprinkle ⅓ of the sugar mixture over the apples.
Step 6: Repeat this until all the apples and sugar mixture are arranged in layers.
Step 7: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the colour turns brown.
Step 8: Pour in water and cook for another 15 minutes or until the apples are fork-tender.
Step 9: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
