I still can’t forget the heavenly aroma of these baked apples! The smell alone is very soothing. Wait until you bite your teeth on the tender apples coated with cinnamon. Oh man, every bite is very satisfying that you would want to finish the whole plate! I think there is nothing that can make this recipe even better because it is already perfect but feel free to add more ingredients though if you feel like it. Give it your take and maybe one of these days I get to see your blog and learn a thing or two. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 large apples – peeled, cored, and sliced
3 ½ tablespoons water
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Brush with butter a large baking dish.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, add in the nutmeg, vanilla sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Arrange ⅓ of the apples in the bottom of the greased baking dish.
Step 5: Sprinkle about ⅓ of the sugar mixture on top. Repeat until all the ingredients are arranged in three layers.
Step 6: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until slightly brown then pour in water. Cook for another 15 minutes or until the apples are soft and tender.
Step 7: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
