How to make Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa
In a crockpot, place all the ingredients and mix well. Set to cook for 3 to 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low.
Oven Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Ready a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Grease and set aside.
Step 2: Place the chicken broth and cream cheese in a saucepan. Stir and heat, stirring often, until the cream cheese has melted.
Step 3: In the bottom of the prepared baking dish, layer the frozen pierogis and top with a layer of kielbasa followed by a layer of cream cheese sauce and shredded cheddar cheese. Do the same layers again.
Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 to 45 minutes or until the casserole is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
Notes:
This casserole is excellent to pair with a fresh green salad and crusty bread.
Feel free to try other flavor variations of pierogi.
The sauce will thicken nicely as the casserole cools.
You can garnish the casserole if made in a crockpot with crispy fried onions. Or add the onions at the last five minutes of baking to give the casserole a nice crunch.
Keep any leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
