Ingredients:
Sesame Chicken Sauce Ingredients:
¼ c soy sauce
¼ c rice vinegar
½ c brown sugar
1 tbsp corn starch
⅓ c water
2 tsp sesame oil
½ tbsp sesame seeds
Tempura Batter:
½ c cornstarch
½ c flour
2 Egg whites
½ c cold seltzer water
Chicken:
1 pound chicken thighs boneless and skinless cut into 1? chunks
2 tsp sesame oil
¼ tsp crushed red pepper
1 tbsp minced garlic
vegetable oil for deep frying
Directions:
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce. Stir until well combined.
Step 2: In another mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the batter. Stir until well combined.
Step 3: Place a deep fryer with 3-inches of oil on the stove and preheat to about 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
Step 4: Meanwhile, dip the chicken pieces into the batter. Make sure to coat them generously.
Step 5: Drop the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Make sure to cook them in batches and do not overcrowd them.
Step 6: In the meantime, place a skillet or a large wok on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 7: Add sesame oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 8: Add the garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds or until slightly brown.
Step 9: Add the sauce and the fried chicken pieces. Toss until well mixed.
Step 10: Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the Crispy Sesame Chicken onto a serving plate.
Step 11: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
