Christmas is almost here and I can’t wait to make this incredible Cornbread Dressing. I can just picture myself sitting in the living room, drinking my coffee, and eating this delicious treat! Oh, man, you need this in your life. If you have not tried it yet, I highly recommend you do so because aside from the luscious flavours, the ingredients are very easy to find as well. You will never have trouble finding them at your local grocery store! The ingredients I have listed are pretty basic so feel free to add more to it. For example, I think cheese will make this recipe super delicious!
Ingredients:
2 cups chopped celery
2 large onions, chopped
1 stick margarine
5 cups crumbled buttermilk cornbread (dry)
5 cups dry bread crumbs
3 cups turkey or chicken broth
1 stick butter
4 large eggs beaten
1 ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
3 teaspoons sage or to taste
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
1 teaspoon pepper or to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a large baking pan.
Step 3: Add in the onion mixture, celery, beaten eggs, bread crumbs, melted butter, chicken broth, sage, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed. Make sure that the dressing is wet so it does not get dry when cooking.
Step 4: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes with cover.
Step 5: Remove the cover and bake for another 10 minutes or until the colour turns brown.
Step 6: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
