It is one of my husband’s MOST lavish desserts. Some of his favorites are Pecan Pie, Cheesecake, and most especially anything that has Dark Chocolate on it, and because this has everything he likes no wonder he asks for it every now and then. Although it may seem a bit challenging to bake it really isn’t. I like to make my own pie crust but any deep-frozen crust will do so don’t worry. One thing is for sure this dessert is so delicious!
Cook time: 55 Min Prep time: 25 min Serves: 8
Ingredients
1 deep-dish pie shell
1 c dark chocolate chips
3 Tbsp whipping cream
8 oz cream cheese
¾ c sugar – divided
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 eggs
¼ tsp salt
3 Tbsp melted butter
1 c light corn syrup
1 ½ c pecan halves
Directions
Fill the pie plate with your self-made crust or deep-frozen crust.
Mix cream cheese, 1 egg, ½ c. sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, beat until smooth.
Get a microwaveable bowl then add the dark chocolate and whipping cream. Put it in the microwave on 50% power about 1 minute until morsels start to melt.
Pour into a medium bowl a corn syrup, melted butter, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and ¼ cup of sugar. Whisk it until well-blended. Stir in pecans, too.
Pour the chocolate mixture into the pie crust and smooth out with a spatula then pour the cream cheese over the chocolate make sure that it is spread evenly. Pour the pecan mixture over the cream cheese and even out o top of the cream cheese. The secret to its success is to make sure that every mixture is distributed evenly.
Bake for 55 minutes (or until it sets) in a pre-heated 350° oven. Cool it down in a wire rack. Refrigerate if there are any leftovers.
