I like to call this Chimichurri sauce the best companion of steak! Yes, it is! You have got to try this, I’m telling you! In just 5 minutes, yes, five minutes, you will surely enjoy this sauce! All you need are these basic ingredients and a food processor. Oh, man, you are so in for a treat! You can always add more ingredients to this recipe if you want. Ingredients:
1 tsp salt
½ tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 small red chilli (seeded and diced (or 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes))
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tsp dried oregano
½ c chopped parsley (flat-leaf parsley)
⅔ c good-quality extra-virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 shallot (chopped)
Directions:
In a food processor, add the shallot, red chilli, garlic, chopped parsley, red wine, vinegar, oregano, salt, pepper. Pulse until well combined and processed.
Transfer the processed mixture into a mixing bowl, then add extra-virgin olive oil. Stir everything until well blended.
Leave the sauce at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to incorporate all the flavours.
Serve with steak and enjoy!
Notes:
You can also use this sauce as a marinade.
Make sure to discard the stems of the parsley before pulsing in the food processor.
Make sure to use only fresh garlic for this recipe.
You can omit the shallots completely for this recipe.
Make sure to include dried oregano for an authentic Chimichurri sauce.
