Ingredients
2 diced onions
1 pound of ground beef
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
1 small can of tomato sauce
1 c. of sour cream
2 c. of shredded cheese
1 c. of cooked rice
1 c. of chicken broth
1 c. of frozen peas
Salt, pepper, and oregano
How to make Cheesy Ground Beef Rice Casserole
Step 1: Spray cooking spray into a skillet and heat over high heat. Then, add the onions and saute for a few minutes. Next, add the garlic along with the ground beef. Continue to cook until the meat is no longer pink.
Step 2: Adjust the heat to medium and season the meat mixture with pepper, salt, and oregano.
Step 3: Add the peas to the skillet along with the rice, tomato sauce, 1 c cheese, and broth. Let everything simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring often.
Step 4: In a casserole container, transfer the mixture. Place in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes at 250 degrees until completely heated and the mixture begins to bubble.
Step 5: In a bowl, combine the sour cream and cheese until well mixed. Pour this on top of the casserole. Return the casserole to the oven and resume baking for another 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
Step 6: Remove from the oven when done and serve the casserole immediately. Enjoy!
