These Cheese-Wrapped Hotdogs are superb! You will surely enjoy every bite of it. They are cheesy, meaty, and juicy. How awesome is that? My kids could not get enough of these sensational hot dogs. My youngest daughter always reminds me to make these for breakfast! Yes, they are perfect for breakfast, snack, or even lunch! If you want, you can serve these with buns. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
8 slices American cheese, sliced
8 hot dogs
8 wooden skewers
2 cups flour (250 g)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 ½ cups milk (360 ml)
2 eggs
oil, for frying
ketchup, to serve
mustard, to serve
Directions:
Step 1: Place a hot dog in the centre of each cheese slice. Roll and seal lock with a wooden skewer.
Step 2: Place the cheese-wrapped hotdogs on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 3: Refrigerate for about 20 minutes or until chilled.
Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, add the baking powder, flour, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper. Beat until well mixed and forms into a smooth batter.
Step 5: Transfer the batter into a tall glass cup.
Step 6: Place a pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 7: Add oil and allow it to become hot at 200 degrees C (400 degrees F).
Step 8: Remove the cheese-wrapped hotdogs from the fridge and dip each into the batter. Make sure to coat each evenly and shake off any drippings.
Step 9: Place the dipped hot dogs into the pot with the hot oil. Fry each until golden brown.
Step 10: Place the cooked hot dogs on a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Step 11: Serve warm with mustard or ketchup. Bon Appetit!
