This is the best tater tot casserole! This casserole has a wonderful combination of flavors. My family’s favorite dinner and a favorite at our mini-gatherings. This tater tot casserole is incredibly easy and quick to make in under an hour. Crispy, crunchy tater tots with layers of tons of melted cheese, green beans, and ground beef mixture. This casserole is a scrumptious dinner option perfect for the entire family!
Ingredients
½ onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound lean ground beef (the leaner the better)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
15 ounces can of green beans, drained
10.75 ounces can condensed cream of mushroom soup
salt and pepper to taste
2 c. frozen tater tots
How to make The BEST Tater Tot Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F. Using cooking spray, lightly grease an 8 x 9-inch baking dish and set aside.
Step 2: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until brown. When done, drain the excess grease.
Step 3: To the ground beef in the skillet, add the onions. Cook for another 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often until translucent. Then, add the garlic and cook for a minute more until aromatic, stirring often. Next, stir in the Worcestershire sauce. To taste, season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Into the prepared baking dish, transfer and evenly spread the ground beef mixture. On top, add the cream of mushrooms, then the green beans and cheddar cheese. Do not forget to season the green bean layer. Scatter the tater tops on top.
Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the tater tots are golden brown.
Step 6: Remove from the oven when done and serve the casserole right away. Enjoy!
