Marinated to perfection, this Oven-Baked Chinese BBQ Pork is what you just might need today! This pork is marinated for 2 days. Just imagine how delicious it will taste after hours and hours of marination! I always make this 2 days before the weekend. A must-try recipe!
Ingredients:
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp Chinese
½ c honey
⅓ c soy sauce
½ c Hoisin sauce
3 pounds boneless pork shoulder or butt
five-spice
2 tsp cornstarch
1-2 tsp red food coloring, optional
4 tbsp oyster sauce
½ c dry sherry
½ c brown sugar
Directions:
Add soy sauce, brown sugar, dry sherry, Hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, honey, five-spice, and red food coloring into a large mixing bowl. Stir everything until well blended.
Make three horizontal slices out of the pork.
Add the pork slices to a large resealable bag, then add about half of the marinade. Seal the bag and shake it until the pork slices are well coated.
Put the bag in the fridge and marinate the pork slices for 2 days.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Line a baking sheet with foil.
Remove the pork slices from the bag with the marinade and arrange them in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the pork slices for about 25 minutes. Flip the pork slices and bake the other sides for 25 minutes as well.
Add the other half of the marinade into a saucepan over low heat.
Add cornstarch and whisk until well blended. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes or until it becomes thick.
Remove the pork slices from the oven, then brush each with the prepared sauce. Broil the pork slices for 5 minutes. Repeat the process with the other side of the pork slices.
Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes at room temperature to incorporate all the flavors.
Serve warm with the sauce. Enjoy!
Note:
Garnish each serving with chopped green onions.
