This recipe is the best way they make garlic bread! Super easy, quick, and guarantee the ultimate cheesy garlic bread you’ll ever make! My family is obsessed with this buttered and baked French bread that has been topped with a melty layer of shredded cheese. For a more robust garlic flavor, I suggest using fresh garlic. But if you prefer a more mellow flavor, you are welcome to use granulated garlic. Serve this cheesy garlic bread warm, garnished with parsley!
Ingredients
¼ c. salted butter, softened
1 (14 ounces) loaf of French or Italian bread
2 tablespoons olive oil (not extra virgin)
⅓ c. finely shredded Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon minced garlic, or 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 ¼ c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to make Cheesy Garlic Bread
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: In half lengthwise, slice the bread. To about 24-inch long, cut two sheets of foil. On a rimmed cookie sheet, place them side by side, allowing one foil to slightly overlap the other. Then, lay the bread on the baking sheet, cut-side-up.
Step 3: Place the butter, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix well with a fork. Over the whole surface of both bread halves, evenly spoon and spread the mixture. Using foil, wrap the bread and crimp the edges. Then, roll the ends of the foil up. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
Step 4: After 10 minutes, take the dish out of the oven and open the foil. Roll the foil inward, then sprinkle the cheese over it. Resume baking for another 5 to 6 minutes. For crispier bread and more golden cheese, broil during the last 1 to 2 minutes if desired.
Step 5: Before serving, garnish with some parsley and slice the bread. Enjoy the cheesy garlic bread warm!
