I have been making this Apple Pie Filling Coffee Cake for years now and I still love this dessert the same. All the ingredients are combined in one bowl, baked, then drizzled with a simple glaze. Super easy and quick to throw together and one of the best treats you’ll ever make!
This recipe is not only incredibly easy to make but also modifiable. You can prep your favorite pie filling to change the flavor. My favorites are blueberry and strawberry. Before slicing, make sure to give the glaze enough time to set. Once set, slice and enjoy!
Ingredients
CAKE:
3 eggs
1 pkg white cake mix (15.25 ounces)
1 cup sour cream
1 can apple pie filling (21 ounces)
¼ cup water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
GLAZE:
1–1 ½ tablespoons milk
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
How to make Apple Pie Filling Coffee Cake
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Using a mixer, beat the cake mix, ground cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, and water until well combined. Into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan, pour the mixture and top with spoonfuls of the pie filling.
Step 3: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven when done and let the cake cool for about 10 minutes.
Step 4: To make the glaze, combine the powdered sugar and milk. You can add more milk (by teaspoonfuls) if the glaze is too thick to drizzle until you reached your preferred consistency.
Step 5: Over the cake, drizzle the glaze and let it cool fully before slicing the cake.
Note:
Feel free to change the flavor of the coffee cake by prepping your desired pie filling like strawberry, apple, and blueberry.
