Ingredients:
2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
1 lb. boneless pork loin, trimmed hanger steak, boneless short rib, or skinless, boneless chicken breasts or thighs
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp light brown sugar
¼ pear, grated
1 tbsp grated peeled ginger
1 tbsp gochugaru (coarse Korean hot pepper flakes), or 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Kosher salt
1 garlic clove, grated
2 tbsp soy sauce
Sliced scallions (for serving)
Directions:
In a large resealable bag, add soy sauce, ginger, pear, sesame oil, gochugaru, and sugar. Shake the bag until everything is well blended.
Slice the meat into thin pieces, then add them inside the bag. Shake it again until the meat slices are well coated. Marinate the meat for about 30 minutes to overnight.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and allow it to become hot.
Remove the meat from the marinade and shake off any excess.
Add the meat into the hot skillet in batches, then cook each side for about 3 minutes or until done. Transfer onto a clean plate. Repeat the process with the rest of the meat.
Sprinkle freshly chopped scallions over each serving.
Serve right away over rice. Enjoy!
Note:
The best thing about the meat is that it is so thinly sliced that you don’t need to marinate it for a long time!
