These homemade doughnuts are so good! They play in your mouth every bite you do. It is very easy to make as long as you follow the steps I have provided. Do not skip a step and I promise you that you will be guided to perfection!
Ingredients:
2 quarts oil for frying
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup white sugar
¼ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
¼ cup milk
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1: Add enough oil into the deep fryer and set the temperature to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 2: Use a waxed paper to filter the baking powder, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
Step 3: Add in the eggs and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed using an electric mixer until the texture becomes soft.
Step 4: Add in 2 tablespoons of oil and beat until well mixed.
Step 5: Transfer the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Stir it in together with milk in an alternate way ending the addition with the flour mixture.
Step 6: Add in the vanilla and apple sauce. Stir until well mixed.
Step 7: Scoop the batter and drop about 3 or 4 balls at a time into the deep fryer. Do not fry more than 4 because the oil might spill out of the fryer.
Step 8: Fry each batch for 3 minutes or until the color turns golden brown.
Step 9: Place the fried doughnuts on a clean plate lined with a per towel to drain the excess oil.
Step 10: Let it sit at room temperature to cool completely.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!

The amount of oil will vary on the temperature, size of the fryer, ingredients, and the type of oil.
