Ingredients:
¾ cup flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 Tablespoons cornmeal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1-2 teaspoon salt-according to taste
¾ cup milk
2 ½ cups chopped onions
Oil for frying
Directions:
Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 2: Add in the milk and stir until creamy and thick.
Step 3: Add in the onions and stir until well combined.
Step 4: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 5: Add in oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 6: Spoon the mixture and drop them into the hot oil. Use a spatula to slightly flatten them out.
Step 7: Fry both sides until brown and crispy.
Step 8: Place the onion fritters on a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Step 9: Serve warm and enjoy!
