I love onion rings, do you? If you do, then you have to give this recipe a try! Oh, man, you are so in for a treat! Cooking them in an Air Fryer somehow made these onion rings extra delicious! Try it and taste it yourself. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
½ c all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt, divided
½ c buttermilk
1 Egg
1 c Panko crumbs
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large yellow or sweet onion, sliced and separated into rings
olive oil spray
Directions:
Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add the flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, and paprika. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 2: In another mixing bowl, add the egg and buttermilk. Beat until well mixed, then add about ¼ cup of the flour mixture. Beat until well blended.
Step 3: In another mixing bowl, add the Panko crumbs, 2 tablespoons of oil, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: Coat each onion ring with the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk mixture, and lastly into the Panko crumb mixture. Repeat this process to the rest of the onion rings.
Step 5: Arrange the coated onion rings into the Air Fryer. Make sure not to overcrowd the onion rings. Cook them in batches.
Step 6: Turn the Air Fryer to about 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F and cook them for 12 minutes. Flip the onion rings in the middle of the cooking time.
Step 7: Place the onion rings onto a clean serving plate.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
