Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 large yellow onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups of water
1 cup beef broth
Two 15-ounce cans of tomato sauce
Two 15-ounce cans diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon oregano
3 bay leaves
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon pepper
2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Step 1: Place a Dutch oven on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add the ground beef and sauté until the colour turns brown.
Step 3: Add the onions and sauté for another 5 minutes or until translucent.
Step 4: Add in 2 cups of water, tomato sauce, 1 cup of beef broth, garlic, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, and bay leaves. Stir until well mixed.
Step 5: Cover with lid and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
Step 6: Add in the elbow macaroni and cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until firm to bite and al dente.
Step 7: Remove from the heat and allow the pasta to cook a little more but do not overcook.
Step 8: Discard the bay leaves.
Step 9: Let the Goulash sit at room temperature to cool.
Step 10: Sprinkle a generous amount of cheddar cheese on top.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
