Oh, man! This dish is superb! I am very satisfied and glad that I finally decided to give this one a try. It is best served with a nice cold iced tea. I also serve this with garlic bread. You are in for a treat! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
6 slices bacon, or to taste
cooking spray
1 cup sour cream
½ cup butter
1 pinch salt-free seasoning blend, or to taste
8 frozen hash browns, thawed, or more to taste
¾ cup shredded Cheddar cheese, or to taste
1 tablespoon dried chives, or more to taste
ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 9×4-inch loaf pan.
Step 3: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 4: Add the bacon and cook for 10 minutes or until crisp and greasy.
Step 5: Add the cooked bacon on a clean plate lined with paper towels. Crumble and set aside.
Step 6: In a medium mixing bowl, add the butter, seasoning, sour cream. Beat until well mixed.
Step 7: Arrange a layer of about 2 ½ hash browns on the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 8: Top with about ⅓ of the sour cream mixture and evenly spread it. Sprinkle about ⅓ bacon and ¼ cup of Cheddar cheese on top.
Step 9: Repeat method until all ingredients are arranged in layers.
Step 10: Sprinkle chives on top and cover the entire dish with aluminium foil.
Step 11: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour or until the cheese turns golden brown.
Step 12: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
Step 13: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
If you are going to use all of the hash browns packages, adjust the rest of the ingredients.
