Ingredients:
2 ½ cups elbow macaroni
1 (8 ounces) package processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
1-pound ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (10.75 ounces) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup (such as Campbell’s®)
1 (8 ounces) carton sour cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup milk
8 slices American cheese (such as Kraft®)
1 (8 ounces) package buttery round crackers (such as Ritz®), crushed
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray in an 11×13-inch baking dish.
Step 3: Place a large on the stove and pour salted water. Turn the heat to high and allow it to boil.
Step 4: Add the elbow macaroni and cook for 8 minutes or until al dente’.
Step 5: Drain the water and rinse with running water to stop the cooking process.
Step 6: Place the cooked macaroni into a mixing bowl and add processed cheese cubes. Let it sit until the cheese has melted.
Step 7: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 8: Add the ground beef and use a spatula to break it.
Step 9: Season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed. Cook for 10 minutes or until the beef is brown.
Step 10: Remove from the heat. Place the cooked meat in a large mixing bowl.
Step 11: Add Parmesan cheese, Cheddar cheese soup, onion, and sour cream into the bowl with the cooked meat.
Step 12: Add the macaroni and cheese mixture into the soup mixture. Stir until well mixed, then add in milk.
Step 13: Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish and place slices of American cheese on top followed by cracker crumbs. Cover the entire dish with aluminium foil.
Step 14: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until it starts to bubble. Remove the cover and bake for another 10 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
Step 15: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool.
