Satisfy your teeth with these sweet rolls! My kids love them so much. Baking them has been a bonding moment for us as well. Give this a try and have fun baking. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups milk
1 ½ teaspoons salt
½ cup shortening
½ cup white sugar
2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
6 cups all-purpose flour, or more as needed
2 large eggs, beaten
6 tablespoons butter
¾ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 ½ cups brown sugar
¾ cup butter
¾ cup pecan halves
6 tablespoons light corn syrup
Directions:
Step 1: Place a small saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 2: Add the milk and heat it for about 5 minutes or until it starts to bubble.
Step 3: Add in the shortening, ½ cup sugar, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Remove from the heat and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 5: In a small mixing bowl, add ¼ cup of warm water and the yeast. Stir until the yeast is dissolved completely.
Step 6: Transfer the mixture into the milk mixture. Add in eggs and flour. Stir until well mixed, then cover with damp cloth or towel for 1 hour to double its volume.
Step 7: Press the dough and allow it to rise for another 40 minutes, covered.
Step 8: Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and place the risen dough. Roll to get about 9×15-inch rectangles.
Step 9: Brush 2 tablespoons of butter on each rectangle.
Step 10: In a medium mixing bowl, add the cinnamon and ¾ cup of brown sugar. Stir until well mixed.
Step 11: Sprinkle the sugar mixture on top of the rectangles. Roll and cut into 9 even slices. (This usually yields 27 rolls.)
Step 12: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 13: In a small mixing bowl, add ¾ cup of butter, 1 ½ cups brown sugar, corn syrup, and pecans. Stir until well mixed, then sprinkle the mixture on top of the rolls.
Step 14: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until caramelized.
Step 15: Remove from the oven. Allow it to rise again by adding 9 rolls in every pan. Let them sit for about 40 minutes.
Step 16: Place inside the oven and bake for another 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 17: Remove from the oven and invert the rolls on aluminium foils.
Step 18: Serve and enjoy!
