Ingredients:
6 large sweet potatoes
½ cup butter
2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
salt to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Wash and peel the potatoes. Slice them into small cuts.
Step 2: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Add the butter and allow it to melt.
Step 4: Add the sliced sweet potatoes and stir.
Step 5: In a small bowl, add the nutmeg, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well mixed, then stir in the mixture into the skillet covering all the sweet potatoes.
Step 6: Cover the skillet and simmer on low heat for 1 hour or until the potatoes caramelize and tender in the middle.
Step 7: Stir from time to time to prevent the potatoes from sticking.
Step 8: Remove from the heat and add the vanilla. Stir until well mixed.
Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
