My kids love this Chicken Divan! Aside from the delicious flavours, it is also very cheap to make. I mean, you can use leftover chicken from last night’s dinner. How awesome is that? By the way, be very generous with the cheese. Just do it and thank me later! I hope you all love this recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked, cubed chicken breast meat
1-pound fresh broccoli, cooked and chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
1 ½ tbsp curry powder
½ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp garlic salt
salt and pepper to taste
2 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
1 (10.75 oz) can condense cream of chicken soup
1 (10.75 oz) can condense cream of mushroom soup
1 (6 oz) can French-fried onions
Directions:
Step 1: Ready the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Place the chicken in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the broccoli on top of the chicken.
Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, add the curry powder, garlic salt, cayenne pepper, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Add the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, and Cheddar cheese. Stir until well combined.
Step 5: Transfer the mixture into the baking dish with the chicken and broccoli. Spread it evenly then sprinkle the remaining onions and cheese over the top.
Step 6: Bake inside the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 7: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
This dish is best served with Garlic butter bread.
If you do not have the cream of mushroom soup, you can use cream of chicken instead.
You can use sour cream instead of mayonnaise.
