Creamy, oceanic, and satisfying! This seafood bisque is the best! I usually serve this on special occasions. I always serve this with garlic bread, steak, and fried chicken. Give it a try and be amazed by how tasty this soup is. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped green onion
2 tablespoons chopped celery
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 ½ cups milk
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 cup heavy whipping cream
8 ounces of crab meat
4 to 8 ounces small cooked shrimp or other seafood
2 tablespoon sherry wine* (Optional; especially if a child is going to be eating this.)
Directions:
Step 1: Sift the flour using a sieve.
Step 2: In a small mixing bowl, add the veggies and butter. Add the sifted flour and use your hands to mix all the ingredients until the veggies are well coated.
Step 3: Place a small saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add oil and allow it to heat through.
Step 4: Add the coated veggies and cook for about 2 minutes.
Step 5: Place another saucepan on the stove and pour in the milk. Turn the heat to medium and allow it to become warm and thick. Stir from time to time.
Step 6: Add tomato paste, fresh ground black pepper, and heavy cream. Stir until well mixed.
Step 7: For better a result, puree the soup using a food processor or blender. Transfer it back into the saucepan over low heat.
Step 8: Add the shrimp, sherry, and crab. Stir until well mixed and simmer until everything completely cooked.
Step 9: Remove from the heat.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can add lobster or scallops if you prefer.
You can use chopped shallots instead of green onions.
Garnish with sour cream, cilantro, parsley, or green onions. These additional ingredients will make the dish magical!
