These are not your typical hot dogs! Instead of the usual hot dogs in buns, these are wrapped in bacon! Yes, you read it right. The meat in these sandwiches is superb! You will be very satisfied once you get a bite. Feel free to use your preferred kind of bun in this recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 (2 ounces) hot dogs
4 slices cold centre-cut, thinly sliced bacon
2 roll (blank)s large hot dog buns
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard, or to taste
2 tablespoons dill pickle relish, or to taste
2 teaspoons diced red onion, or to taste
2 tablespoons diced tomato, or to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Place a hot dog in the middle of a bacon slice and roll it once horizontally. Place the second hot dog under the first one and wrap it with bacon twice. Tuck the hot dogs and secure both ends. Repeat this procedure to the rest of the hot dogs and bacon slices.
Step 2: Place a non-stick pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Add the bacon-wrapped hot dogs and cook for 10 minutes on both sides. Flip it over from time to time to brown both sides.
Step 4: Remove from the heat.
Step 5: Spoon 1-tablespoon of mustard on the buns and spread it evenly.
Step 6: Place the cooked bacon wrapped-hot dogs in the middle. Place red onion, dill pickle relish, and tomato on top.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can always use three bacon slices to wrap the hot dogs. It will only take more than 10 minutes to cook.
You can also grill it instead of pan-frying it.
By the way, I used large buns for this recipe.
These bacon-wrapped hot dogs are best served with Potato salad.
