Sometimes potatoes are perfect the way they are. Sometimes as simple as melted butter can make the potatoes very special. Take for instance this recipe I am sharing with you today. It doesn’t need anything fancy or complicated steps to make it one of the best recipes for potatoes. As simple as boiling it will do. Potatoes are one of the tastiest vegetables. It has a natural sweetness and juiciness that you will not find in other vegetables. This recipe is very special to me because when I was a kid, we were poor. I remember my mom used to boil potatoes and serve it with salt and pepper only. To me, it was the best food ever. Now, that I am a grown-up and have a family of my own, I make sure that my kids eat the best meal but I still serve this simple recipe to remind them how hard yet good my childhood was. Anyway, I hope you all love this. You all have an amazing day ahead. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 pounds whole new potatoes
5 cups cold water
1 cup kosher salt
¼ cup melted butter, or to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large pot on the stove and pour in enough salted water and turn the heat to high.
Step 2: Add in the potatoes and allow it to boil.
Step 3: Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes on medium heat or until the potatoes are soft and tender.
Step 4: Drain the water and transfer the potatoes on a large plate.
Step 5: Drizzle melted butter on top.
Step 6: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
I usually drizzle the melted butter on top but you can serve it in an individual small bowl as a dipping sauce.
