Two years ago, my mom went to visit my aunt in Georgia, and she vowed to come back there. I don’t know what happened, but suddenly it seems she’s changing. She’s now staying in the kitchen for a long time, making something, which is kind of weird because she does not usually stay there. One day, we had our snack in the afternoon, and she serves this Georgia Peach Cobbler. I asked where on earth she learned this recipe, and she began to tell us how she and my aunt went to a restaurant and tried this dish. It was so delicious they bought all the ingredients and made their version of their recipe at first bite she said it was love.
Ingredients:
(6-8) fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
(1) stick unsalted butter, melted
1 cup of flour
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
(⅛) tsp. salt
1 cup of milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
(½) lemon juice
Directions:
Preheat oven 375 degrees F.
Add melted butter and pour in the center of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Make sure that it isn’t scattered across the oven.
Add and combine flour, a cup sugar, salt, and baking powder in another bowl. Pour in the milk and vanilla extract slowly, and then stir until incorporated. Then, pour in the batter over the butter. Do not stir.
In a saucepan, add and put the brown sugar, peach slices, and lemon juice. Add and stir the ingredients frequently over high heat until the sugar is completely melting, and the peaches have released their juices.
Once done, add and pour in the peaches on top of the batter but do not mix.
Add and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes or until the top of the cobbler is golden in the preheated oven.
Remove from the oven, and then you can serve it warm or cold. If you prefer, you can add a scoop of ice cream on top. Serve and enjoy.
