There’s just nothing like fresh cooked and delicious than Country Style Green Beans with Red Potatoes. This family favorite side dish usually starts with smoked turkey, often referred to as the country-style green beans. Many cooks can also season the beans with cured ham or country ham to add a pop of flavor. Serve this favorite country style with a pan of hot buttered cornbread on the side and sliced tomatoes from the garden, and make it a country-style feast.
I have many memories of enjoying eating at my grandparent’s dinner table with Country Style Green Beans with Red Potatoes. My grandparents had a great quantity of property, which they planted various fruit and vegetables. Afterward, their pantry is full of all kinds of organic canned tomatoes, pickles, jellies, and many more to be consumed within the next few months. My grandfather would take them straight out of the vine and then pack-them-up to send us off, and he will also include fresh green beans. It was a regular practice and one of the greatest blessings of life.
Ingredients:
½ pound smoked turkey
(2) (14.5 oz) cans Beans, snap, green, canned, regular pack, drained solids
(1) large Onions, raw
(10) small potato, red, flesh, and skin, raw
1 tbsp seasoned salt
2 tsp Spices, pepper, black
1 tbsp Spices, garlic powder

Add and place turkey tails and onion into a 4-quart Dutch oven and fill halfway full with water. Add and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer over low heat until meat falls off the bones for 2 hours. Remove the bones and skin, then return the meat to the pot. Discard bones and skin.
