This is the best chicken I’ve made this week! Ultimately delicious and easy & quick to put together. Succulent chicken smothered in a delightful creamy garlic sauce. This chicken meal is irresistible!
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter, divided
2 large chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise
Flour for dredging
1 whole head of garlic, cloves peeled
½ tsp lemon juice
½ c. chicken broth or stock
¼ tsp garlic powder
Parsley, chopped (optional)
1 c. heavy/whipping cream
Salt & pepper to taste
How to make Creamy Garlic Chicken
Step 1: In half lengthwise, slice the chicken in half to make 4 smaller cutlets. Then, sprinkle the cutlets with salt and pepper. Coat them in flour.
Step 2: Into a skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken once the oil is hot and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden. Set the chicken aside once done.
Step 3: Adjust the heat to medium (if using cast iron, adjust the heat to medium-low). Add the remaining butter to the pan and allow it to melt. Then, add the garlic cloves and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
Step 4: Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice. Add the garlic powder. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 4 minutes or until the liquid has been reduced.
Step 5: Add the cream. Stir and return the chicken to the pan. Continue to cook for additional 5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced and the chicken is completely cooked.
Step 6: Serve the creamy garlic chicken immediately, garnished with some freshly chopped parsley. Enjoy!
NOTES:
To make this dish, I use a 10 to 14-inch lodge cast-iron skillet, but any skillet will do.
For this recipe, I suggest using fairly large boneless/skinless chicken breasts as we are cutting them in half lengthwise. If using smaller chicken breasts, use 4 pieces and leave them intact.
If using large garlic cloves, simply cut them in half to about the same size.
