How to make Honey-Sriracha Turkey Meatballs
Step 1: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the celery, onion, and peppers. Saute for about 5 minutes until tender. Next, add the garlic and continue to cook for a minute more, stirring.
Step 2: To a mixing bowl, transfer the contents of the pan and let the mixture cool a little.
Step 3: Add the Cajun seasonings to the mixing bowl along with the parsley, chili flakes, egg, ground turkey, and panko. To taste, season with salt and pepper. Mix by hand until just combined.
Step 4: Into 1-inch turkey meatballs, shape the meat mixture to make about 16 meatballs.
Step 5: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.
Step 6: Place the pan over medium heat and drizzle in the rest of the olive oil. Sear the meatballs for about 3 to 4 minutes, rolling them until all sides are slightly brown.
Step 7: Into the preheated oven, transfer the pan and bake the meatballs for about 10 minutes or until completely cooled.
Step 8: In the meantime, ready the honey-sriracha glaze. Into a small pot, whisk the sriracha, honey, garlic powder, chili flakes, and salt and pepper. Heat the glaze gently while stirring until blended.
Step 9: Over the turkey meatballs, pour the sauce. Or brush the meatballs with the sauce.
Step 10: Before serving, sprinkle the meatballs with some chili flakes and fresh parsley. Enjoy!
Notes:
The heat factor of these meatballs is mild-medium. If you want to spice things up, add hotter peppers to the meat mixture and/or use more spicy chili flakes and seasonings.
To bake the turkey meatballs: Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Line the meatballs and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes at 400 degrees F or until completely cooked.
