Ingredients
10 strips bacon
1 pound chicken tenders (about 10 chicken tenders)
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
⅓ c. light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ to 1 teaspoon salt
How to make Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Tenders
Step 1: Ready a smoker, grill, or oven. Preheat either to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Place the Italian seasoning, pepper, salt, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder in a bowl. Mix well until combined.
Step 3: Evenly sprinkle the mixture on all sides of the chicken tenders, making sure to cover each piece completely in spices.
Step 4: Around each chicken tender, wrap a slice of bacon, tucking the ends.
Step 5: Combine the sugar and chili powder and sprinkle this on all sides of the bacon-wrapped chicken.
Step 6: Onto the chicken, press the brown sugar mixture to make sure it doesn’t come off.
Step 7: On the preheated smoker, place the bacon-wrapped chicken. Close the lid and cook for about 30 minutes or until the chicken and bacon are cooked through.
Step 8: On a cookie sheet, place the chicken and broil for a couple of minutes. This step is optional but recommended if you want to crisp up the bacon.
