This Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl is another easy and quick dinner recipe excellent for busy weeknights. Prep this in five minutes and have this ready on your dinner table in under thirty minutes. Serve this over rice with a side of broccoli or any of your favorite veggies for a simple, filling meal that your entire family will ask for over and over again!
This recipe is also perfect for meal prep. My husband is obsessed with this Teriyaki chicken and his week is never complete without this! This Teriyaki Chicken is one of my family’s favorite restaurant takeout. And this homemade version is way better! To make this recipe a lot easier, you can use leftover chicken or even a store-bought rotisserie chicken.
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
2 teaspoons minced garlic
½ c. low sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons honey
3 teaspoons cornstarch
½ c. water
rice for serving
steamed veggies for serving
sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
½ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
How to make Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl
Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
Step 2: To the hot oil, add the cubed chicken and cook until no longer pink and cooked through.
Step 3: In the meantime, make the teriyaki sauce. Place the soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Mix well until combined.
Step 4: To the skillet with the cooked chicken, add the teriyaki sauce. Continue to cook while stirring until the sauce has thickened.
Step 5: Take off the heat and serve right away garnished with some sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy this dish with brown or white rice with a side of your favorite vegetables!
