Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
500 grams of beef mince
150 grams macaroni
1 brown onion, diced
2 carrots, peeled and diced
1 c. frozen peas
¼ c. tomato sauce
1 c. grated tasty cheese
40 grams sachet of French onion soup mix
How to make French onion savory mince
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 180 degrees C. Ready an oven-proof baking dish. Grease and set aside.
Step 2: Following the package directions, cook the macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain when done and set aside.
Step 3: Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the onion and saute for about 4 minutes until tender. Then, add the minced beef and continue to cook until well-browned, breaking the beef apart using a wooden spoon as it cooks. Next, add the carrots along with the French Onion Soup Mix. Stir well, then pour in 2 c of water. Bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, decrease the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes.
Step 4: Add the tomato sauce to the pan along with the peas and drained macaroni. Stir well.
Step 5: Into the prepared baking dish, transfer the mixture and top with cheese. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is golden.
NOTES:
If needed, add extra seasoning.
For extra stretch, add a mixture of tasty and mozzarella cheese.
