Quick, easy, and delicious. This hearty Crockpot Ham, Green Beans, and Potatoes is an amazing dinner option. A complete meal by itself. But you can also serve this with your favorite bread for a simple, yet filling meal that even your picky eaters will enjoy!
Cook this Ham, Green Beans, and Potatoes in your Crockpot on either a low or high setting. I prefer cooking on low as the flavors meld together more perfectly. But if you are short on time, you can cook it on high.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes, yellow or red, skin on, cut into bite-size chunks
36 oz. green beans, fresh or frozen, in bite-size pieces
3 c. water
1 lb ham hock
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon thyme, dry
1 teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
Oil, just a drizzle, about 1-2 tbsp
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt, more to taste
How to make Crockpot Ham, Green Beans, and Potatoes
Step 1: Place the ham hock or ham chunks in the bottom of a crockpot. Add the green beans on top, water, and potato chunks. Next, add the thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, cloves, and cinnamon. Mix well, then drizzle with a little amount, about 1 to 2 tsp oil.
Step 2: Put the lid on and set it to cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 to 7 hours. Take the ham hock out of the crockpot after the green beans and potatoes are done. Set it aside to cool a bit before chopping it.
Step 3: In the meantime, place the crockpot in a warm setting.
Step 4: Serve the Ham, Green Beans, and Potatoes right away with the ham chunks. Enjoy!
Tips:
To prevent mushy green beans, do not overcook them. But cook the potatoes well.
Large chunks of potatoes will take a long time to make. I recommend slicing the potatoes into about 1-inch pieces.
