HOW TO MAKE GRANDMA’S PORK CHOPS IN MUSHROOM GRAVY
Step 1: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic to the skillet once the butter has melted and saute until aromatic.
Step 2: In a medium-sized bowl, place the pork chops and season with salt and pepper. Place in the skillet with the butter-garlic mixture and sear for about 3 minutes per side until brown. When done, transfer the pork chops to a baking pan.
Step 3: Into the same skillet, place the mushrooms. Pour in the sherry and beef broth. Stir well, scraping the bits of pork on the bottom of the skillet. Let everything boil, then pour this on top of the pork chops. Using aluminum foil or a lid, cover the baking pan.
Step 4: Place in the preheated 350 degrees oven and bake for about 45 minutes. Uncover and continue baking for additional 15 minutes.
Step 5: On a serving plate, place the pork chops.
Step 6: In a pan, bring the pork chop juices over medium heat. In the meantime, whisk the cornstarch with water, then stir this into the boiling juice. Continue to cook for another 2 minutes until the mixture has thickened.
Step 7: Over the pork chops, spoon the sauce. Serve and enjoy!
