How to make Glazed Cream Cheese Orange Loaf
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Using butter or nonstick cooking spray, grease a 9 x 5-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Place the flour, orange zest, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Mix well until combined and set aside.
Step 3: Cream the butter, cream cheese, and sugar in a large bowl or mixer for about 3 to 4 minutes until smooth. Whisk in the eggs along with the orange juice, vanilla, and orange extract.
Step 4: Into the wet ingredients, slowly mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Into the prepared baking dish, transfer the mixture. Then, bake in the preheated oven for about 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the bread comes out clean.
Step 5: In the meantime, make the glaze. Combine the powdered sugar with orange juice and orange zest until well blended. To thin out the glaze, you can add more orange juice. For a thicker glaze, add less orange juice.
Step 6: When done, take the loaf out of the oven and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes. To loosen the loaf, run a knife around the edge of the pan.
Step 7: Onto a serving platter, invert the loaf, and pour the glaze on top. Allow the glaze to set and serve the glazed cream cheese, orange loaf at room temperature. Enjoy!
