This Homemade Parmesan Cheese Spread has been a part of our family for a long time! You can say that this recipe is modified to perfection all these years! You will be amazed at how easy it is to make such a delicious spread. All you need are olive oil, garlic, basil, red pepper, cheese, and a food processor! In just a few minutes, this delicious spread is ready for serving! Although, I highly suggest you refrigerate it first overnight before using it. Just do it and thank me later! I highly recommend serving this with crackers or Italian bread. It is simply the best! I have listed all the directions so you just need to follow them step by step, and you are good to go! Okay, enough with the long introduction. I’ll let you start prepping. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Olive Oil
Garlic, 6 to 8 cloves depending on how garlicky you want it
Fresh Basil Leaves
Crushed Red Pepper
Parmesan Cheese, one big brick
Directions:
Peel the garlic cloves, then crush them.
Slice the cheese into small pieces. (Chunks or cubes)
Add the crushed garlic cloves into the food processor together with the cheese. Pulse a few times until just combined.
Slowly add olive oil and pulse continuously until well blended. Be mindful of the mixing. We don’t want to overmix it. Make sure that the cheese is not pureed but crumbled.
Add crushed red pepper and basil leaves, then pulse again until well blended. This should take about 2 pulses.
Transfer the Homemade Parmesan Cheese Spread into a jar, then place it in the fridge to chill overnight.
Serve with sliced Italian bread or with crackers. Enjoy!
Note:
Keep this spread in the fridge to prevent it from spoiling.
