How to make Fried Deviled Eggs
Step 1: In a large saucepan, place 6 eggs and cover with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn the heat off. Put the lid on and let it sit for about 11 minutes. Drain, then rinse the egg under cold water and peel.
Step 2: After you halve the eggs lengthwise, scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl. To the bowl with the yolks, add the mayonnaise, sour cream, hot sauce, and Dijon mustard. Using the back of a fork, mash the yolks, then stir until smooth. To taste, season with salt and pepper. Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge.
Step 3: In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, the remaining eggs, and the panko. To the eggs, add 1 tsp water and whisk using a fork until mixed. To the bowl with flour, stir in the garlic powder. In the flour, dredge the egg white, then cover in the egg, and panko. On a plate, place the breaded egg white.
Step 4: To a large, heavy-bottomed pot, add about 3-inch oil and heat to 350 degrees. To the hot oil, gently drop the breaded egg whites and fry for about 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown. On a paper towel-lined plate, transfer the fried egg white and season with salt.
Step 5: Finally, fill the fried egg whites with the yolk mixture, then garnish with some chives and paprika. Enjoy!
