Ingredients:
For the Cake:
2 Eggs
½ c of buttermilk
1 c of regular coke
2 c of sugar
2 c of flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
½ c of oil
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 stick salted butter
For the Frosting:
6 tablespoons cream or milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 stick butter
½ c of chopped walnuts (optional)
3 ¾ c of powdered sugar
Directions:
For the Cake:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray and sprinkle flour into a baking pan.
Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add butter, coke, cocoa, and oil. Stir everything until well blended. Bring the mixture to a boil.
In a mixing bowl, add salt, sugar, and flour. Whisk until well incorporated.
Pour the coke mixture into the bowl with the flour mixture. Stir until well incorporated.
Add buttermilk, vanilla, eggs, and soda. Beat everything until well blended.
Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake the batter for about 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
For the Frosting:
Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add milk, butter, and cocoa. Stir until well blended and allow the mixture to boil.
Add the rest of the ingredients for the frosting and stir until well blended. Remove from the heat.
Pour the frosting over the cake and spread it evenly.
