Ingredients:
2 tsp ground oregano
1 c salted butter, sliced
1 whole turkey
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 tsp ground basil
Directions:
Check the turkey with an instant-read thermometer if it’s no longer frozen. It should read 325 degrees F.
Lay the turkey into a roasting pan. Remove the innards and neck.
Add ice into 2 plastic bags and clip them. Put a bag in between each breast.
Leave the turkey at room temperature for about an hour.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Insert your finger from the neck cavity, then run it towards the bread and drumsticks to ease the skin. Add butter to the skin and meat.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil into a mixing bowl. Whisk until well incorporated.
Sprinkle the mixed seasonings over the turkey, then rub it until fully coated.
In the middle of the turkey, insert a heat-proof instant-read thermometer.
Place the pan inside the preheated oven and bake the turkey until the temperature reaches about 155 degrees. Make sure to baste from time to time.
Remove the turkey from the oven and allow it to rest at room temperature for at least 20 minutes to incorporate all the flavors.
Carve and serve. Enjoy!
