Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced or crushed through a garlic press
1 lb. (450g) salmon fillet
½ c whole-grain Dijon mustard
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp red pepper flakes
Coarse salt and black pepper
½ c (125ml) honey (for non-low-carb, keto diet)
Juice of ½ lemon
¼ tsp Cayenne pepper
1 lemon, sliced, for garnish
1 tbsp chopped cilantro, for garnish
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Line foil onto a baking sheet and seal the sides.
Add garlic, a pinch of salt, cayenne pepper, oil, red pepper flakes, honey, lemon juice, and mustard into a mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well blended.
Lay the salmon fillets onto the prepared baking sheet.
Add the honey-mustard on top of the salmon and spread it evenly. Season with cracked pepper and salt.
Cover the salmon with the foil and make sure to seal it.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
Unwrap the foil, then broil the salmon for another 3 minutes or until a bit caramelized.
Remove the Honey Garlic Salmon Baked in Foil from the oven and sprinkle freshly chopped cilantro on top to garnish.
Serve hot with lemon slices on the side. Enjoy!
Notes:
Make sure not to overcook the salmon. We don’t want that! Check the oven from time to time.
Feel free to use parchment paper instead of foil.
You need to taste and adjust according to your preference.
You can omit the honey from the recipe if you are on a keto diet.
