Thanks, grams for this recipe! My grandma taught me this and now, I get to share it with you as well! I have listed all the ingredients and directions for the best Mac and Cheese you will ever have! Nothing will ever compare to this. My only advice to you is to be very generous with the amount of cheese that you are going to add. Just do it and thank me later! Have a beautiful day, friends, and I hope you are all well today. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
4 pounds Cheddar cheese, sliced
5 Eggs, or more to taste
1 ½ c milk
1 pound elbow macaroni
ground black pepper to taste
1 tbsp yellow mustard
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 150 degrees C or 300 degrees F.
Place a large pot with salted water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Add the elbow macaroni and cook for a few minutes until firm to bite or al dente.
Drain the macaroni and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Add some of the cooked macaroni into a 5-quart baking dish and spread it evenly to cover the bottom.
Add Cheddar cheese over the macaroni.
Repeat the process until everything is arranged in layers.
In a mixing bowl, add the eggs, milk, and mustard. Beat until well mixed.
Pour the mixture on top of the macaroni mixture and spread it evenly.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the cheese turns brown.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle black pepper on top.
Serve hot and enjoy!
