Ingredients:
4 slices bacon
1 (9 inches) unbaked pie crust
¼ c butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 Egg, beaten
2 Eggs
1 ¼ c sour cream
¼ c cream cheese softened
¼ tsp salt
⅛ tsp ground black pepper
1 c shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add the bacon and cook until crispy.
Remove the bacon slices from the skillet onto a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease. Allow them to cool, then crumble.
Use a rolling pin to flatten the pastry crust.
Place the crust into a 9-inch pie pan.
Use a fork to poke small holes over the crust.
Place the crust inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven, then brush egg on top. Put it back inside the oven and bake for another 5 minutes.
Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the onion and saute until soft.
Turn the heat down to low, then cook the onion until it caramelizes.
Add 2 eggs into a mixing bowl, then beat until creamy.
Add cream cheese and sour cream, then whisk until well blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the caramelized onions and butter over the crust, then spread them evenly.
Sprinkle ½ of the Cheddar cheese on top.
Add the egg mixture on top of the crumbled bacon.
Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
